Safety Summit 2022

Black residents of Washington, D.C., have long recognized that community violence cannot be solved through state violence alone. On February 25th, we will convene to set forth a new legislative agenda that is evidence-based, directly responsive to community needs and goals, and carefully and thoughtfully drafted.

Now is the time to dramatically change the District’s approach to policing, prosecution, punishment. It is also the time to change the way policymaking happens in the District and to start centering solutions developed by people who are most affected by these laws.
