Mary Zenger is a graduate of George Washington University Law School’s class of 2024. During her law school career, Mary pursued an education in civil rights lawyering. She participated in the inaugural class of GW’s Access to Justice Clinic, Prisoners’ Civil Rights Division and founded GW’s Disability Law Society, a chapter of the National Disabled Law Students Association, during her first year of law school. Creating opportunities for law students with disabilities and law students passionate about disability rights was the highlight of Mary’s law school career.
Prior to law school, Mary served as a client services navigator for the Alaska Public Defender’s office in Juneau, Alaska, where she connected Public Defender clients with social services, housing support, and substance use disorder treatment programs. Her direct service to people impacted by unjust systems informed her education in law school, where she learned how the legal system leaves entire communities behind. She hopes to always continue that service with the goal of creating positive change on the individual and community level.
